God, this isn't even art but you know what, I don't even have the strength of mind and wrist to do any better right now. What I really wanted to do was rattle on about how much I hate anime cuz y'know, I was all like doing my saturday night thing for the first time in a long while and I'm up watching Trinity Blood or some shit like that and man that was the dumbest crap ever. I usually don't like to waste my time with that kind of thing but I was trying to keep an open mind and I swear all I did was lose more brain cells... I'm not an anime fan. I like one cartoon here and there and I like Japan, but the kind of stuff anime fans here like here...total crap. What the hell, it's so effing pretentious, like this show with its religious mumbo jumbo and stupid long white haired guy. I HATE long white haired guys. Especially if they wear glasses!!! Anime seems way to much about just looking all badass and there's no pith to it, no real substance that people can actually relate to. Yeah, maybe if you all weren't so pretty I'd be tempted to believe your lives were actually tragic or something. They're friggin trying to rot my brains out with what's supposed to be depth, but it's lame. It makes me wanna kill someone more than any stupid beat-em up ever did.....I swear.....

Sorry about that, it's 3 AM and I have no idea what I'm talking about. Gokuh watching the tube in the Mr. A fashion. Leaning back in chair with legs on table and having a very intimate one on one interaction with the TV.

I hate alot of anime as well. It's all storyless crapp that falls out of japans anus at night. D:

Uh...Dragonball is an anime too...I hardly see how you can relate to a guy who goes from being a strong black haired dude to a overly buff blond haired dude with blue-green eyes...Although I have to agree that Trinity Blood is stupid and I do respect that you have you're own opinions...but you must also bear in mind that not ALL anime are like that. That's just like watching Billy and Mandy and saying that American shows have no substance and are all based on violence and idiocy (well most are but you get the point).

LMAO ok...Goku...owning a cup that says 'Goku' on it...is hilarious. I will have to find a blank cup and write 'Goku' on it and laugh everytime I take a drink (which might be difficult, what with all the laughing and all).

everything about Goku's expression, that 'wtf is this crap', his posture, all just adorable and so believable. that's totally how I'd see him watching tv. and hey I'd say it's art! :0

and your rant about current anime is what I've been feeling for the past four or so years. it's gotten so tripe and pretentious now, why even bother?

I watched that tonight too announcer. Actually i think its replaying at this moment. I hope you dont think that you hate bleach too,cus i really love the manga and I'm warming up to the anime now that its in english,not too bad voice acting either really. And i do agree about what your saying,alot of the times anime makes characters too picture perfect and you cant get into believing their plight or problems as the story presents them because it doesnt seem real. But thats not all anime but it is fairly common to be sure.But then,almost all anime presents character that way in one form or another,because if you want real life drama..i dunno,watch tnt or something or just go outside and look around,depending on where you live. lol Gotta remember anime and tv in general is a means of escape from reality to alot of people,so i keep that in mind too but hey,no need to ruin the fun of watching it.

My wife complains often because I'm so extremely picky about anime for those exact reasons: most are insanely pretentious, and/or recycled ideas from other anime and about looking cool. So often you'll watcha "dramatic" scene where the characters are getting all worked up and debating one another's philosophies, and when they get to their ultimate, life-changing conclusion, it's either completely nonsensical and irrelevant to their line of thinking, or it's something blatantly obvious they've mega-inflated.

That's called hack writing.

If you like, I can suggest the handful that I've actually enjoyed over the years.

Haha, I know it's an anime but what I'm saying is I'm not an anime fan, I'm a fan of Dragonball, Ghibli, One Piece etc.... but definitely not the genre as a whole. It's 99% trash and porn if you ask me.

And hey, I CAN relate to DBZ. At least most of the characters in that series act like regular people, despite being a bunch of aliens and superhuman freaks. It's down to earth, doesn't take itself too seriously, and it keeps me entertained.

Oh no, Bleach sits pretty well with me, at least for the first 9 volumes or so. Yeah, I totally agree that anime should be an escape, but I need some kind of point to which I can attach.

Oh definitely ,i cant get into it if i dont feel for it some way. I just recently started falling into eureka 7 mostly cus of renton,the kid in the story. It wasnt that interesting ta first but i caught it again lately and i'm starting to get into it since the story has been focusing on him and everyone else thinking hes just being a kid and realizing how their actually killing people when they fight and etc.,dont wanna get into detail so your just sitting there going "...huh,whats he blabbing about? O.o;" but i felt a connection with his situation so its more interesting. I've got up to eleven in the volumes for bleach,and thats where it gets alot more complicated with him going to the soul society and i started to lose interest there. But man you have GOT to atleast try out Death Note,I know it's finished in japan but I love that manga, if you havent heard much about it you just gotta check it out,great story,deep characters,its got everything. And great art too,no doubt about that. So really,best i can say is with anime you just gotta sift through alot of mainstream to get to the good stuff tucked away in the chaos of it all.
