Well, many of you may already know that a live action Dragonball movie is in the making, and you may also know that I consider it a total outrage. Seriously, a year ago, if I had to make a list of things that couldn't and shouldn't happen to Dragonball, this would be at the top of my list!!! AGHHHH!!!!! I know there's no use crying over spilt milk but still..... Actually I will say that the the right approach was definitely taken to the story in that it focuses more on the original series, introducing the characters and using Piccolo as the main villain, while probably making use more of the DBZ fighting style (which is exactly what I said I would want once in a topic on this worst case scenario.) BUT, but, but, but....... there is another very serious problem that will probably make this movie unwatchable no matter what the circumstances. And that is, the movie version of Gokuh will be an unpopular high school student.....

If this is another effing case of trying to make a character relate more to the audience....!!!! Because I will tell you, that same bullshit almost ruined transformers for me. I just wanted to see Optimus Prime be his awesome self and watch some giant robots throw down, but no, they had to insert some hormonal teenage boy and his skank love interest too. What? I'm sorry, is Optimus Prime not a strong enough character to drive the plot of his own movie?
Anyway, it would be the same for Dragonball. I don't care about crazy hair or talking animals, but I just want some spirit of the original material to show through and I feel that this high school crap puts a very deep wound in this spirit. I mean, it doesn't even make sense!! What the hell would he need to go to school for? Being one of the most likeable characters ever, how would he be unpopular? His stupidity? Because I've been to high school and I know plenty of people who were as dumb if not dumber than him.


[/rant] Sorry about this, I don't mean to get people down even before the movie comes out but I can't help this whole things pissing me off. I really shouldn't care as much as I do....

and before anyone corrects my grammar here : "All the other guys are so much tougher better looking and MORE social than me..." there I did it myself
