Well my mother always has a favorite of my Otakon pieces and this year it was my watercolor Dr. Slump pic. It's very simple and the background was very last minute but I think it looks pretty successful.

I decided to use the 1997 versions of the characters to give it a more modern appeal, even though barely anyone around here even knows what it is... But regardless, it sold meaning either someone did care for Slump or just thought it was cute. Here we see Arale and Gatchan(Gajira) having their snacks much to the displeasure of Dr. Norimaki. I don't really know how to draw wrenches and I was too lazy to find a reference so there you go.... I think the blue tones I used to shade look pretty good, especially since the background is so warm. Really makes the characters stand out. Wow, my art was so Toriyama heavy this year...shame on me....actually I had an eva piece but it didn't turn out so well.
